Call to Action: Baking in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

At this point in the genocide, 96% of Palestinians in Gaza are at the risk of hunger or starvation. Virtually no aid is entering Gaza and supplies are dwindling. Self-sufficient food systems have (long) been decimated.
One year after the first community bake sale, one year of heightened violence which has affected millions of people, we gather again in solidarity to raise money for the people of Gaza. We will bring a part of ourselves, a part of our traditions, a part of our heritage to the table where we can exchange our time and energy to something greater than individual ingredients or individual actions. We use baking to care for those around us. We use it to create care for those far away. We see baking as a humble act of resistance when our actions can often feel futile.
All money raised during the bake sale will go directly to @thamra_org , a Palestinian food sovereignty organization working to build self-sufficient food systems in Gaza.
Interested bakers, volunteers, suppliers, should fill out the form at the link in the bio to receive more info for the day of the bake sale. We will need volunteers to help brew coffee, clean up the space. We are seeking donations of coffee, oat milk, napkins, and paper bags. Bakers of all levels are welcome to join.
