Fastelavnsboller by Milton Abel
Pastry King Milton Abel will be brining his Fastelavnsboller out of retirement this Sunday when he pairs up with Diamond Slice at Blågårds Plads for a one day only event. Born and raised in Missouri, Milton Abel II is the son of Kansas City jazz legend and hall of famer bassist Milt Abel. Growing up, artistry and imagination were encouraged. Abel started cooking as a “side gig” to his own professional acting and music career, but it quickly became his passion and main focus. For almost a decade, Milton worked for chef Thomas Keller, both at The French Laundry and Per Se. During his ten years in Copenhagen, Abel has worked as pastry chef at Restaurant Noma, Amass, and Kong Hans Kælder. After starting a family, Milton shifted his focus to the bakery scene opening Andersen Maillard and as head of pastry at Hart Bakery. With four years away from the Fastalavnsboller season, he has decided to join the fun again… for one day.
