Madland Talk: Local resilient food systems in Copenhagen – Why Farmers Markets?

Sun May 4
City

Madland, Grønt Marked and Slow Food invites you to Grønt Marked’s Season Opening and a Madland Talk on the mobile market stage about local food systems, short supply chains and the role of farmers markets. We ask a politician, a farmer and a market organizer about how we can strengthen the food system between urban and rural areas, while creating the structural framework for giving the citizens of Copenhagen access to fresh, whole and healthy food. Join us and listen, ask, take part and shop! Join us for after the talk for a market lunch made from fresh and local produce by Grønt Marked Kitchen.

Programme
11.30-12.25: Why are farmers markets important, how do they differ from other shopping systems, what’s the added value they give, what’s missing? How can supply chains be shortened and what role do platforms like Grønt Marked, Københavns Fødevarefællesskab, FællesGro, etc., play in that?

Talk with Line Barfod, teknik- og miljøborgmester, Københavns Kommune, Marianne Petri Kristensen, farmer, Søagergaard, Kristin Evensen Friis, citizen and Viola Capriola, founder, Grønt Marked. Moderated by Marie Sainabou Jeng, founder, Madland.

The talk is co-funded by BEAUTIFOOD. Become a member and support Grønt Marked.
