Alice

Markmandsgade 1

» It has a calm feeling to it even though they’re always busy. I’m addicted to the Brunsvinger, and the salt on their morning buns make them stand out! «
Thea Engvik

» I live just across the street from Alice and get my morning coffee here every day. In my opinion, they have some of the best pastries in Copenhagen. Their “brunsviger” is fantastic and their home made ice cream is perfect for summer days. «
Jonas Harboe
POPUP26
» In Copenhagen the bun and cheese competition is real. Alice is a great contender located at Christmas Møllers plads, in a former kiosk space. Besides the bun their coffee is great, they have a nice selection of natural wines, homemade ice-cream and makes a killer baguette with ham and cheese. «
Stine Kirkegaard
EasyPeacy
» Alice has a small menu but everything is done perfectly. In no small part is this due to the passion and drive of the owner Anders. Every summer we eat too much of their ice cream and for the rest of the year we OD on their croissants. «
Camilla Hansen & Nick Curtin
Alouette
» Best ice cream and pastries in town. Lovely place run by great people pursuing amazing taste. I would have a milk ice cream, batch brew of Koppi coffee, and a croissant (or two). «

Central Hotel & Café

Tullinsgade 1

vesterbro

» At the border of Vesterbro & Frederiksberg you find Central Hotel & Café. With only 1 room it is one of the smallest hotels in the world. The café is located at the ground floor where you can grab a cup of coffee outside, inside or on the go. It’s been my go-to coffee spot since I moved to this part of town. No bullshit - just nice people and damn good coffee. «

» Another really cool location what was close to my apartment when I was living in the area. Cannelle and the team over there is doing an amazing job by creating breakfast-brunch dishes which are colorful, healthy, super instagrammable and their taste still makes sense. Well it doesnt just makes sense, its pretty damn tasty. Also in their little shop you can buy amazing sauerkraut and fermented coconut yogurt alongside a lots of other cool stuff to take home. «
Tamas Buda
Andersen & Maillard
» Their menu reminds me of brunch in my hometown Toronto. So much inventiveness - especially with eggs (sorry boiled egg with Rugbrød)! The service is super welcoming and the space is light and full of plants. I would go for poached egg on cheesy polenta and convince my table to share the hot cakes. Finish with a cannelle from the bakery and espresso. «

Xoco Gourmet
» My second shop opened in the meatpacking district. Shortly after we opened, Prolog came along and saved my life. They source and roast their beans to provide an amazing cup of coffee. They now started using Mexican Beans too! I love their product, but their staff is truly one of the best as well. «

» If you like your coffee light roasted with smooth flavor come find this place in Meatpacking! It’s my go to coffee pusher on the west side! They don’t have a wide bread selection, no- go to the bakers for that but have your coffee here! Place is small so if you want to sit in come early, otherwise relax in the sun outside or take it to go -winner start of the day. «

» I don't drink a lot of coffee (it makes me hyperactive and nobody wants that), but their passion and enthusiasm for coffee really makes me want a cup. It's one of my favorite spots to sit in the sun and "people-watch". Their ice cream sandwiches are amazing (we collaborate on these!). «

» Copenhagen Coffee scene is strong and to me Prolog takes the lead. You'll always meet industry people sitting outside sipping their morning coffee before going to their restaurants for work. Good atmosphere and delicious coffee! «
Jonas Franck

» I don't think there is much to say here — for me, they have the perfect cup of coffee. I live nearby and, during the lockdown, they were the perfect starting point for one of the thousand walks I went on. Nothing beats a good cup of coffee in the morning! «

Paolo Civitella
Rondo
» Without a doubt, this is my favorite coffee hang-out in Copenhagen. Darcy is a dedicated bean geek who always strives to find new indie roasters around the world. Besides epic coffee and great pastry, the place is cozy and at the right time a big outdoor serving in the sun. «
Peter Trillingsgaard
Veranda
» Darcy’s is a great spot to stop for breakfast or simple lunch or simply to chat with the staff and baristas from other cafés on their day off. It’s an expat favorite so expect international vibes if you need a break from being around Danish people. They stock a great selection of coffee from roasters like Sey Coffee, Manhattan roasters and local favorites like La Cabra and April. Get the filter of the day and a cheesy toastie on the side, it’s a killer combo! «
Astrid Johansen & Maria Lima

» Darcy's Kaffe is a place we love to visit on our days off. That's the place where I can start my day with one of their delicious pastries and coffee. Again, a place with a very laid-back atmosphere and welcoming staff, which is very important to us. Even though it's located on the busy street Rantzausgade, it always manages to make you feel very cozy and relaxed. «

» This Coffee shop is located in the center of Copenhagen and is run by Claus Dahlgaard. Probably the best underground barista in Copenhagen. He does extremely delicious Flat whites, cookies, filter coffees, espresso shakes, and ice cream on sticks. Great place to hang out and do some computer work or just daydream. You normally see me there in the early mornings having a flat white with a cookie to start my day. «

» A café looking directly to the Black Square in Nørrebro, which became a habit of my to visit, getting a "kardemommesnurre" or a pistachio pastry with a flat white. Bageriet B

Haraldsgade 5

nørrebro

» A fairly new bakery at Skjolds Plads, at the outskirts of Nørrebro. A typical, good sourdough bakery, but in a neighborhood that's normally not so sourdough-y. Which I hope sets a new trend for the neighborhood. Get their blondie (when they have it), if you're in the mood for something sweet. «

» I might look suspicious about this one because I used to work there a few years ago. But even now I still love going there. The vibe, the food, the coffee, the people, everything combined makes this place very humble, friendly, and fun to be at. Always ask what is special on that day, so you can get something that you are not expecting. «

Apotek 57

Fredericiagade 57

indre by

» Located hidden from the main streets and tugged in/connect to the Frama shop, Apotek 57 creates a mandatory stop when in the city center and when in need to some delicious food. They make their pastries, bread, waffles, among other things. The vibe is happy, friendly and always pushing the standard. It just feels like you are on the living room of your home, it’s often that the times goes by without you notice. That’s when you know that you are on the right place :) «

» My favourite breakfast spot in the city. The selection of baked good is outstanding and is amazing how Chiara and her team built up such an hype in this little time. Their service is friendly and vivant, really refreshing in a city like Copenhagen. Go there for the bun with butter and cheese and housemade jam. «
Gonzalo Guarda
Rug Bakery
» I stumbled upon Apotek 57 for a meeting — with my now bun maker, Paolo — and was taken aback by the stylish, delicious and convivial atmosphere. Lola and Chiara put out fun-loving Italian vibes while whipping up a mean seasonal salad with fresh cheese from Søtoftes. Always leave room for their crispy and naughty croissants. «

» Apotek57 has recently become one of my favorite spots for breakfast and studying. I love the place’s ambience with its open kitchen space, and long tables. It is the perfect spot for people watching in Copenhagen. «

» Apotek 57 is a beautiful eatery situated inside an old apothecary, now designed store Frama. Italian chef Chiara Barla and her team have a small but well-curated selection of pastries, daily specials and seasonal dishes - all characterized by their simplicity and honesty. Yet the flavors and compositions are incredibly intentional and complex, highlighting and honoring each ingredient. We go there for the signature croissant with chocolate miso filling, and buckwheat galette with asparagus, kale and ramson flowers. That whipped ricotta and vanilla and honey roasted red grapes on toast were really amazing as well. «
