Restaurant Kronborg

smørrebrød

» Restaurant Kronborg is my favorite place for smørrebrød. I think a lot of the classic smørrebrød places are pretty similar but I really like the people running Kronborg and the food is great. I am a big herring boy but their warm dishes are super good too. It's always my family’s first request when they visit from Texas. Always order a “fornuftig” O.P. Anderson (or several) and make sure to write off the rest of your afternoon. «

Captain H

chinese, restaurant
østerbro
» Captain H is a self described Chinese BBQ and Korean bistro run by a very sweet family. One thing I miss terribly about Paris is authentic Asian food. This place is as good as it gets for me. They do lots of different dishes as well as tons if things grilled on sticks. It’s also the only place I can think of in town that offers such a wide variety of offal. Get the grilled veal kidneys, beef tendon, tripe skewers, and spicy tofu skin. Bring all your friends and drink a ton of beers. Amazing service! «

Ali’s Bageri

brunch, middle eastern
nørrebro
» Ali’s Bageri is probably the restaurant in town I eat at most frequently. I always get their chicken livers, fattah with cashews, and sujuk pizza. Ayran to wash it all down. «

Rouge Oysters

vesterbro
» Rouge Oysters is a local favorite of mine for oysters and wine. A safe bet for before and/or dinner somewhere else. It’s tiny but has a great vibe and always ends up as a late night. «

Rosforth & Rosforth

byof, harbour, natural wine, outdoor seating, outdoor seating only, wine bar, wine shop
chr. havn
» Rosforth & Rosforth under Knippelsbro is a sort of spiritual home for me - it is where it all started for me living in Copenhagen. Sune and the Rosforth team are like family. In addition to being the best place in town to buy wine, it's a great place to sit and swim in the warmer months, and if you can manage to hang out there in the daytime to taste and pick their brains about the wines they import its an afternoon well spent. «
